BEGIN:VCALENDAR VERSION:2.0 BEGIN:VEVENT SUMMARY:Single atom and Bose-Einstein condensate in cavity QED DESCRIPTION:Strong coupling between an optical cavity and neutral atoms gives various opportunities to investigate quantum physics. Firstly, I talk about 3D imaging of vacuum fluctuations in a cavity based on the measurement of position-dependent emission of single atoms. Atomic position localization was achieved by using a nanoscale atomic aperture scannable in front of the cavity mode. Secondly, I discuss experimental efforts for strong coupling between a BEC and crossed cavities. It is shown that how the ultracold atomic gas was transported into the cavity mode and BEC was made in the cavity. The fabrication of crossed cavities is discussed in detail. Future experiments with the BEC-cavity system are presented as well. LOCATION:Erwin Schrödinger Saal DTSTART:20140714T150000 DTEND:20140714T160000 TZID: Europe/Vienna END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
