BEGIN:VCALENDAR VERSION:2.0 BEGIN:VEVENT SUMMARY:Symmetric Tensor Network Algorithms DESCRIPTION:Tensor networks are a promising tool to address quantum many body problems. They successfully capture the correct entanglement properties that exist in physically relevant states encountered e.g. in cavity QED, systems of trapped cold atoms or high temperature superconductors. Symmetries are a common feature of these models and usually give an insight into the system's critical properties. In this seminar, I will present a unified picture for addressing 'global' symmetries within numerical tensor network algorithms. We observe significantly improved efficiency and precision, and provide some benchmarking on the 1D and 2D Ising model.
