Light is routinely guided and concentrated in many devices. Surprisingly, analogous possibilities are not always available for (static) magnetic fields: e. g. can the magnetic field of a given source be routed along a desired path and transferred to arbitrary long distances? In this talk, we show how transformation optics technique applied to static magnetic fields can result in a new variety of new possibilities for transfer and guidance of magnetic fields, including magnetic cloaking, magnetic energy concentration at a given point with unprecedented values, and routing and long-distance transfer of magnetic fields. All these novel possibilities for the magnetic field are experimentally demonstrated using superconductor-ferromagnetic hybrid systems.
