BEGIN:VCALENDAR VERSION:2.0 BEGIN:VEVENT SUMMARY:Polar gases in layered structures DESCRIPTION:Tuning of anisotropic and long-range interaction between particles in polar and magnetic ultracold gases via an external field makes it possible to realize exotic phases beyond what is possible for systems with short-range interaction. In this talk, I will focus on bilayer gases of polar molecules that are aligned perpendicular to the layers by a strong electric field. Two particles belonging to different layers can be paired because of the attractive component of the interlayer interaction. We studied effect of screening of the interaction on the pairing within three different approaches. Also we will show that population imbalance in this system decreases the pairing gap and also leads to the emergence of some exotic phases such as Sarma and FFLO.
