BEGIN:VCALENDAR VERSION:2.0 BEGIN:VEVENT SUMMARY:Beyond the truncated Wigner approximation – Thermalization in nonequilibrium quantum field theory DESCRIPTION:In this talk, we will present a novel approach to nonequilbrium dynamics of isolated quantum many-body systems. Starting from far-from-equilibrium highly occupied initial states, very different regimes have to be considered. Whereas at early times the time evolution is essentially classical, we will argue that quantum corrections are necessary in order to understand a possible thermalization. Based on the truncated Wigner approximation, we will show how to include quantum corrections via an inhomogeneous functional integral approach. Finally, we will present first results obtained within scalar field theory.
