Upon Arrival

Arrival by air: Public transportation into town: take bus line "F" (Bus Timetable: http://www.ivb.at/downloads/kursbuch/f.pdf). Transportation to the Institute: there is no convenient public transportation available, use a Taxi (Telephone: 5311).

Arrival by rail: Public transportation to the Institute: take bus line "R" from the main railway station "Innsbruck Hbf" at Südtirolerplatz (place in front of the railway station) to bus stop "Fürstenweg", change here to bus line "O" which takes you to bus stop "Technikerstrasse". Approaching the south part of the Technical Complex, find the Institute on the left hand side of the Technical Complex.

Arrival by car: To town: take exit Innsbruck-West -Ost or -Süd for equivalently easy town access. To the Institute: take exit Innsbruck-Kranebitten for convenient access via the Kranebitter Allee and the junction Technikerstrasse to the Academy, at the University Campus Technikerstrasse 25, which is the last building on the left hand inside of the University Campus, located 4 km west of town just opposite of the airport.

Parking outside of the University area: you have to pay parking taxes (1 Euro/hour)
Parking inside: you can get a park-ticket from the secretary (if available)

by bus (directions to: "Technik West", "Peerhofsiedlung" or "Allerheiligen"): the bus line "O" will take you directly to bus stop "Technikerstrasse"
one-way-ticket at the bus driver or day and weekly ticket at the "Trafik" (newsagent/tobacconist) or at the ticket machine at the bus terminal

Finding your way around the Institute

The Institute of Quantum Optics and Quantum Information of the Austrian Academy of Sciences is on the 3rd floor of the "ICT Gebäude". The secretary office is on 3rd floor, open from Monday - Friday, 8.00 - 17.00.
