BEGIN:VCALENDAR VERSION:2.0 BEGIN:VEVENT SUMMARY:Merging quantum computers and optical clocks in programmable atom arrays DESCRIPTION:Entangled quantum states underlie many directions in quantum information science. In quantum computing, large-scale entanglement and the resulting delocalization of information enables key capabilities, like quantum error correction. In metrology, a variety of entangled states can be deployed to improve the rate at which a quantum sensor acquires precision. While often these two directions are considered separately, a burgeoning theme in the field considers them together, i.e. using concepts/tools in quantum information processors to advance quantum sensors. I will describe our work in this area using programmable neutral atom arrays of strontium and ytterbium.
