Das Institut für Quantenoptik und Quanteninformation (IQOQI) der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften widmet sich der theoretischen und experimentellen Grundlagenforschung auf den Gebieten der Quantenoptik und Quanteninformation. for the project Dual-Species Rydberg Processors led by Prof. Hannes Bernien

Main tasks:

  • Performing experimental research on many-body physics and quantum information processing in a dual-species array of atoms coupled to Rydberg states
  • Analysis of experimental results and writing scientific publications
  • Tutor bachelor and master students
  • Representing the group on conferences and workshops via poster presentations and talks
  • Supporting the group in administrative tasks

Your profile:

  • Master's degree in physics with excellent academic record
  • Experience with carrying out quantum physics experiments on cold atoms, or solid state spins, or superconducting circuits, or trapped ions
  • Practical experience of experimental techniques such as laser locking, experimental sequences, data analysis
  • Experience in programming, open system simulations, quantum circuits
  • Strong background in laser technology, quantum information theory
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Ability to work in a team and to present scientific results to the community

We offer an annual gross salary of € 37.773,33, according to the collective agreement of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
