for the SuperMeq project
(part-time, 30h per week)
in the IQOQI research group “superconducting quantum circuits” led by Dr. Gerhard Kirchmair. The position is offered for one year with the option to be extended.
Your tasks:
- Planning and implementation of quantum physics experiments with superconducting circuits
- Buildup of a quantum hybrid system of a mechanical oscillator coupled to a superconducting circuit
- Analysis of experimental results and the writing of scientific publications
- Tutoring of bachelor and master students
- Attendance of workshops and conferences with poster presentations and talks
- Support of the group with administrative tasks
Your profile:
- Master's degree in physics with excellent academic record
- Experience with carrying out quantum physics experiments with superconducting circuits
- Experience with experimental techniques to characterize superconducting circuits like cryostats and microwave setups
- Practical cleanroom and micro fabrication experience such as electron beam lithography, metal evaporation and wet chemistry
- Experience in data analysis and numerical techniques for simulating quantum dynamics
- Strong background in quantum optics, quantum control and quantum information
- Excellent verbal and written English skills
- Ability to work in a team and to present scientific results to the community
- Fulfillment of the official requirements for PhD students of the University of Innsbruck
