BEGIN:VCALENDAR VERSION:2.0 BEGIN:VEVENT SUMMARY:Quantifying nonlinearity of a quantum oscillator DESCRIPTION:This talk will address the quantification of nonlinearity of quantum oscillators and I will introduce two measures based on the properties of the ground state (GS) rather than on the form of the potential itself. The first measure is based on the non-Gaussianity (nG) of the GS, and the second measure is based on the Bures distance between the GS of the nonlinear oscillator and that of a reference quantum harmonic oscillator (qho). The measures are applied on a sample of significant nonlinear potentials and their properties are discussed in some details. Generalized nonlinearity measures based on the properties of states at thermal equilibrium will also be discussed.
