Knowledge only has an impact when it is shared. At IQOQI Innsbruck, we view science communication as an integral part of our work: We regularly open our doors and invite everyone to immerse themselves in the world of quantum physics—whether students, members of the public, or representatives from politics and business.

Regular lab tours give young people exciting insights into current research and the opportunity to experience cutting-edge experiments up close. Through visitor programs, delegations from Austria and abroad gain an understanding of the significance of quantum sciences for future technologies.

At major events such as the „Lange Nacht der Forschung“, the institute participates with interactive experiments and lectures that bring quantum physics to life. Open house events, such as the one marking the institute’s 20th anniversary in 2024, provide opportunities for lab visits and workshops.

Together with academic partners, IQOQI organizes annual summer schools for master’s students and doctoral candidates from around the world. International conferences featuring top-tier speakers underscore the institute’s commitment to fostering scientific exchange at the highest level and making it accessible to a broad public.

In this way, IQOQI Innsbruck helps to spark enthusiasm for science and share knowledge with the wider community.
