With quantum gas microscopy we are now able to take the control of atoms in an optical lattice to the next and ultimate level of high fidelity addressing, manipulation and readout of single particles. I will present recent studies of quantum walks in optical lattices, enabling us to directly observe spatial bloch oscillations, fermionization of bosonic atoms, and the dynamics of repulsively bound pairs. I will then present atomic Hong-Ou-Mandel experiments and discuss how HOM could be used to measure purity and entanglement entropy in many-body states.
